It's kind of been forever

and when I mean forever I mean like forever.
I was looking at a friends blog and saw a link to mine
and was like hey what was the last crap I wrote about?
So I started reading it and laughed at some of the things I went through
and how horrible hygiene school really was.
My mind just erased the horrible parts of those two years.
So many things have changed/ happened since I last posted.
Let me see if I can give you a run down of the major events.
(Note: these are not in chronological order)
I graduated hygiene school and made some lifelong friends in the process
I passed all SIX of my tests to obtain my dental hygiene license
We got a corgi named Nigel
We got another ferret named Meri
We moved apartments within the Pocatello area
After I graduated I started working at a periodontal office as an assistant/hygienist
I was asked to come back as a clinical faculty at my school
Sam is in his FINAL year of pharmacy school
We got another corgi named Winston
We moved in with sams parents for 6 months
We decided Sam would do his last year of school in Reno Nevada
I moved here with my 2 dogs and 2 ferrets at the end of March
I had my brother come stay with me three days later
Sam and I were apart for 6 weeks while he finished the semester
Sam finally moved to Reno in May
I got two jobs at 2 dental offices working four days a week
Nick decided to live with us
He got his first job
We went to the redwoods
We had the Zohner vacation at Lake Tahoe
We very very sadly had to put Meri to sleep
We went to San Francisco
Nick and I went to NY
That was the first time I had been home in two years and the first time I had been home in September in seven years. Crazy!
I think that's the main highlights of everything that has happened since I last posted
I'm certain there are things I've forgotten but oh well

Until next time!

Bear Lake?

For the Zohner family vacation this year we went to Bear Lake.
Bear Lake is in both Idaho and Utah, but mostly Utah.
So we went to the Utah side.
Specifically Garden City, Ut.
Here is where we stayed.
It was super nice!
Here is a picture dump.

Cute little Abby on the boat.

Spencer.

Cameron.

Sam wake-boarding.

Christina water skiing.

Mindy water skiing.

Sam caught some air.

Spencer and Glende getting ready to go tubing.

Alan playing in the sand. :)

These pictures don't do the lake justice. It was so blue and so pretty!
The water was super warm and so enjoyable!

To see what we did last year for the Zohner vacation go here

Saturday Favorites?

1) Getting to sleep in until 8:15 this morning.

2) Waking Pippen up and having him cuddle with you for at least 3 minutes before he goes crazy.

3) That bloomin' onion we had last night at Texas Roadhouse.

4) Taking TWO midterms this week and getting an 89 and 91 on them. Holler.
It's always nice to see when hard work pays off. Lets hope it happens again this week, when I have two more midterms.

5) Finishing all of my Halloween decorations with good friends last weekend. I will have to post pictures of them. that will require me cleaning the apartment first...

6) Diet Dr. Pepper and for its ability to keep me awake and sane all at the same time!

Until next time!

Pippen

He loves to go into our bookbags, mostly Sam's, and steal the pens and pencils with rubber on them. He then runs and hides them under the bed.

We love this guy! He is so fun to be with and play with.

Until next time!

White Coat Ceremony

Since Sam is in the pharmacy program he has a "white coat" ceremony.
Which I think is essentially to welcome him into the profession.
Anyway this happened, oh two months ago or something like that.
I snapped a few photos that I thought I would share.

The best part is that Sam was randomly selected for a scholarship $250.
It may not be big money, but any thing helps!

Until next time!

Guys school is HARD

I am telling you it is just so overwhelmingly hard that I feel on the brink of tears all the time.
I am still not sure if it is actually hard, or if it is just so much stuff all at the same time that I am just trying to keep up but don't know how to.
I have all of this stuff that I need to do when I get home from school,
but all I want to do is nothing.
I just want a break, but I don't have time for a break.
Like this week for example, I had a quiz in my preventive dentistry class today, a probe test in clinic today(because I failed the first one last week), a midterm for clinic lecture Wednesday, a journal due for clinic lecture due Wednesday, the curved explorer test for clinic on Wednesday, a midterm for tooth morphology on Thursday, a tooth ID quiz for tooth morphology on Thursday, a quiz for Medical Emergencies due by Thursday. OMG.
Why am I on here when I have all this junk to do?!?
Oh that's right, because if I don't take 5 minutes for myself, I will literally have a mental breakdown.
Last Monday I failed my probe test in clinic. They (as in my instructors) like to say you didn't fail you just weren't "successful" on the first attempt.
I just know I failed it. And only because I didn't put my pen on a laminated card, when I was charting probe depths.
Then when I got home I just bawled my eyes out. Because I felt like a serious failure.
And then last Tuesday I got my oral histology test back and I legit failed it.
And that made me want to cry all day on Tuesday and Wednesday.
And then I really missed my family and that made me cry even more.
Let's just say it will probably be a miracle if I make it these next two years without some kind of medication.
Sorry for the serious rant.
But now I might be able to get some stuff done.
Maybe.

Until next time!

Friday Favorites

1) Simply the fact that it is Friday should be enough. I made it through this week. Holler

2) I got a 97 on my head and neck anatomy test. My oral histology and embryology grade will probably be another story. As in a 60 would be awesome! He is grading them this weekend so I guess I will find out.

3) Oh hey, it's Friday.

4) Chuck has a big test on Monday that he is studying for, which generally means I can have a little retail therapy without him telling me no. haha

5) Since I don't have a lot of homework this weekend, maybe I will bust out my sewing machine and finish up some projects that I started.

That's all I got. Maybe more things will come to me, but right now I am drawing a blank.

Until next time!
