School
Today is finally Friday. Even though we had a short week, it went by kind of slow. Sam and I have been in school for three weeks now. On one hand it doesn't seem like that long, but when I think about what has happened in each week, it feels like it has been forever. Surprisingly so, school has not been that busy at all. We find ourselves quite bored at times. It is really strange. We come home and do what ever assignment that we may have and then that's the end of it. And the assignments that we do have are not the most time consuming things. A lot of time we come home with nothing to do because we finished it on campus. I generally come home and play on the computer and feel bad because I think that I am procrastinating something, but then I think about it and I have NOTHING to do.
When we moved into our apartment, we decided not to get cable or anything like it. So it has been quite interesting to see how we will spend our time. We do not have a large movie collection, probably like twenty movies total, so we have watched them all numerous times now. We also have netflix, but we only get one movie out at a time and the online streaming movies aren't the greatest. So suffice it to say, we get pretty bored around here. We have purchased a lot of books lately. But of the five books that we bought for me in the past month, I only have two left to read.
ISU offers a lot of things to do on campus for free which is really cool. But the first week or so of school I was sick and now Sam has the same thing, so we haven't really partaken of any of it. They have a movie theater free to students. It is essentially like the dollar theater, or it plays similar movies to the dollar theater. They have a huge rock climbing wall that is free. A swimming pool, which is kind of small, at least compared to BYU. They do have a massive fitness center. Hopefully we will both be healthy at the same time and be able to do some of these things.
Over Labor Day weekend, we headed up to the Eastern Idaho State Fair. It was a fun thing to experience with Sam. However, compared to the New York State Fair, it was really small and didn't have a whole lot to do. The main reason we wanted to go was for the food. But it was pretty hot out so we hardly ate anything. My favorite thing was the petting zoo. A local pet shop provided a bunch of different animals and they even had puppies for sale. There was one that I was literally dying to have, but we needed to discuss it with our landlord first. And she is the hardest person to get a hold of. So by the time we finally got a hold of her on Tuesday, that puppy was already sold. But our landlord told us she would consider allowing us to have a dog. We find out next week. I would be the happiest person ever if we got to have a dog.
Well I guess I should end this before it becomes a novel.
Until next time!
