Looky What I found!

A bunch of random pictures from my phone that I found when I uploaded the pictures from yesterday.
Enjoy!

Monday : (

Obviously you all know that today is Monday. I am quite unhappy about this. I wanted my break to last a little longer and never have to come back to school. But alas break ended and here I am at school waiting for class to get over.(Yes I am writing this in class. Statistics is extremely boring.) Break was a lot of fun and a lot of travelling. There were hardly any days that I didn't travel for more than an hour. I will give you a run down of my break.

Friday 11/18- Finish school/anatomy test, pack apartment. check in at new apartment, cry because I hate it(more on that later)

Saturday- Move entire apartment to our new apartment, drive 1 hour to Idaho Falls

Sunday- church

Monday- play with the new puppy and hang out

Tuesday- leave for Bountiful, Utah 3 hours away

Wednesday- Go to Provo, Utah to visit my step sister 1 hour away, go back to Bountiful and play a billion games of Settlers of Catan

Thursday- stuff my face, go back to Idaho Falls 3 hours away

Friday- wake up at 5 am to go to Joann Fabrics (what was I thinking?!) go home, pack for skiing, travel about 2 hours to ski resort, and ski for a couple hours

Saturday- Go skiing from 10-2ish, travel 2 hours back to Idaho Falls, go out to eat

Sunday- pack everything from Sam's parents and travel 1 hour to Pocatello, realize I left my birth control in Idaho Falls and drive back there.

Folks that is 16 hours, when you count the round trips, of driving that I did over break. Yikes mcgikes. At least I only have one week of classes left, then dead week and then three finals until Christmas break. I will be completely done with this semester come December 14. Hallelujah! I can hardly wait. Hopefully Christmas break won't be as chaotic. I know that there will lots more skiing which I am so excited for. I'll post the very few pictures that I took over break later! Hope you guys had a great break(if you are still in school).

Until next time!

Idaho

A couple of weekends ago Sam and I ventured up to Idaho for the first time since we had left for school. It was so nice to be back and just get to relax and enjoy time with family. It was a pretty chill weekend, which was nice.

We didn't leave Provo until about 5:30 or 6. This turned out to be a really bad idea. Because of the traffic it took us an hour to go twelve miles. It was pretty ridiculous. The rest of the ride was pretty nice. I decided that we should call Momma Syd to let her know when we would be there. It turns out, she didn't know we were coming, because Sam never officially told her. But it wasn't a big deal at all. We hadn't eaten dinner before we left so we stopped in Brigham City at this place called Hunan Village. They serve Chinese food. It was alright food, I have definitely had been Chinese food before. We hopped back on the road and got to the house around 11 or so. We chatted for a a while with the parents and then ventured downstairs to hit the hay.

We got to sleep in, which was so nice. When we went upstairs Momma Syd was talking to Christina on Skype. Chris is Sam's sister that lives in Serbia, with her husband. He works for the embassy. We chatted with Chris for a bit and then ate some breakfast. Sam and I didn't bring any clean clothes up with us because we brought all our laundry to do. So we had to wait to shower until we had clean clothes. Momma Syd took us to lunch at this place called Bubba's Barbecue. I had never been before. It turned out really good. We made Sam get a hair cut after wards and went shopping for stuff for dinner. I almost forgot. When we got stuff for dinner, we made a terrible decision to get this ear wax removal kit. Sam used it first. You basically put ten drops of this kind of gooey stuff in your ear and wait for a few minutes. Then you have a bulb syringe and flush out your war. Well I used it after Sam and was fine for a while. During dinner one of my ears started to hurt. I decided I would just wait until after dinner to take some medicine. That turned out to be a bad idea. Since I waited so long to take the medicine, the pain in my ear just kept increasing. When I finally took the pain medicine, it didn't touch the pain. At this point I was in pretty bad shape. My other ear started to hurt quite a lot as well. I went to the store with Sam and Momma Syd to get a few things. On the way home I was in tears. My ears hurt unbelievably bad. I had never been in such pain. When we got home I went right downstairs to lay down. Sam brought me some more medicine and a heating pad. When I was 5, I had a tare in my ear drum and my mom would always have my use a heating pad, so I thought it might help this time. It did a little. Sam thought that I might be having an allergic reaction to the stuff I put in my ear, so he gave me some benadryl. I was pretty drugged up on medicine, but the pain wasn't even being touched by any of it. I tried to watch some tv to take my mind off it. About an hour or so later Sam gave me a different kind of medicine, because I was still in so much pain and crying. The benadryl started to kick in and make me sleeping. I passed out and when I woke up in the morning, my ears no longer hurt. So word to the wise, do not ever use some stupid ear wax removal kit. It's just a bad idea.

On Sunday, since it was general conference weekend, there was church. We helped bring some stuff up stairs for Momma Syd to put the dining room back together. After we ate dinner and all of our laundry was done, we hit the road to come back home to Provo. It was a really great weekend with a great family.

Until next time!

Wasting some time

Instead of finishing up my math homework that is due at midnight tonight, I decided I would blog, because it has been a lot longer since I blogged compared to when I did math homework. I mean for heavens sake I just took a math test this morning and did some homework last night. I need a serious break from it. Thank goodness my math class is a block class and is ending in about two weeks.

So I finally have a picture of our apartment! It's actually only of the living room, because I never got around to taking a picture of the rest of the place when it was all clean. But anyways here you go!

Sam and I are really happy with where we live and the people around us are pretty great, except the people above us. They are SO LOUD! It is just ridiculous. We can hear them shut cupboards and they must stomp around when they walk. They sound like elephants up there. But we are dealing with it. We finally got our ward directory this past Sunday and we stalked it to see who they were, but alas they aren't in there. So either they go to the family ward or they aren't members. It is weird to think that just anyone who wants to live in those apartments can. We have two single men in the complex, obviously each in there own apartment. (All the apartments at College Park are one bedroom, so it would be way awkward if they were roommates.)

Not too much has been going on with us. Just being busy with school. We are both wrapping up a two week span of midterms. Like I said I just took a math test today, and I have a geology test tomorrow. Sam has his first chemistry test tomorrow, which he is pretty nervous about. Mainly he is nervous because he wants to do well in the class and like chemistry because we have been really thinking about Sam changing his major from mechanical engineering to pharmacy. If he did that we would definitely have to transfer schools, and leave Provo. Most likely, if we decide on pharmacy, then Sam will apply to the University of Utah's pharmacy program, and I would transfer once again. Salt Lake Community College has a dental hygiene program, so it works out for us. It is a little bit bigger program that here at UVU. And it's cheaper to go there. The program at UVU has 14 spots available each year and I believe that SLCC has 21.

Our "One year anniversary" is coming up in a couple weeks. It is the anniversary of our first date. We are going to replicate our first date, or at least attempt to. We will go to the temple in the morning because that is what Sam did that day, and then we will go to lunch. I am not sure where yet. And we have a baptism to go to. And then that night we are going rock climbing. We have wanted to go before this, but every time we planned it, it just never worked out. And we will end then night with a movie and some dessert. The baptism is for my step sister Jen's fiance, soon to be husband. Jen is a member of the church all ready, working her way back, and her fiance, Edgar, has investigated the church for a very long time and is just now getting baptized. They aren't legally married yet, so they are going to have their bishop civilly marry them a few days before the baptism. And then in a year they will be sealed in the temple. We are so excited for them and so happy to see them making such great choices. And then they will get to have their daughter Sophie sealed to them also. The knowledge of eternal families is probably one of the most comforting things in the world. It is so nice to know that Sam and I will always be together no matter what happens to us in this life. I can hardly wait to spend forever with him.

This weekend Sam and I are heading up to Idaho. It will be nice to be back and visit some more. It is always nice to be around family. And I must admit I miss Mama Syd and Alan. It will be sad not getting to see Oden. I don't think I blogged about that before. Oden was one of their dogs, he was a huge Great Pyrenees and Newfoundland mix. This is him:

(Photo compliments of Ashley Zohner Photography)
But this summer we noticed that he started limping around quite a lot. We took him to the vet and he couldn't find anything wrong. Everything in his foot felt fine, so the vet just gave us some pain medicine, hoping that by the time Oden used all the medicine his foot might heal. But it just kept getting worse, so we got him some more medicine. He finished all of that and was still not better. By this time Sam and I were back in Provo. According to Sam's parents, the last week of Oden's life, he could hardly walk around. They took him to the vet again, and he must have done a lot more tests than when we first took him. Oden had bone cancer and it had spread. There was nothing they could do for him, so they had to put him down. When Sam and I found out we both cried. He was such a fun, cute dog.

Well sorry to end on a sad note. I'll let you know how the weekend turned out and what else has been going on in our lives.

Until next time!

Finally!

So Sam and I both finally back in Provo together. I got here around 3:30 on Friday and Sam made it here at about 1:00 on Monday. It seemed like the longest weekend in the world just waiting for him. It is so nice to finally have him here. And we finally unpacked all of our stuff. Pretty much everything for our apartment is all set up. We just have a few finishing touches and then it's all done. I can't believe how nice it is to have our own place and decorate everything the way we want it. But here is a recap of the weekend and events that have led up to this.

On Friday, I brought everything in from the car and just plopped it all down in the living room. I then proceeded to go SHOPPING!! I didn't get anything too crazy. Just some things that I would need to make it through the weekend. I got a dish strainer and garbage can from Bed Bath and Beyond. And then I went to Sam's Club to buy a membership and pick up some essentials. I met my step sister Jen there and we just perused the store. I picked up some things like milk and toilet paper, and little things like that. Then I went to my friend Mayra's to pick up her air mattress that she so graciously lent me. I went home and started the awful task of unpack things and washing some of the dishes. A little while later, I went to Jen and Edgar's, where they were nice enough to feed me dinner. Which was super yummy. Then we just chatted and played the wii. I finally went home and crashed.

On Saturday, people were supposed to come and clean the carpets, so I had to shove everything from the living room into the kitchen. And all of the things that were in the bedroom into our bathroom. I didn't want to be here when they came, so I left and went shopping again. I wanted to go to Seagull book for a new wonder tee, but they weren't open yet, so I went into Shopko to blow some time. It ended up being a pretty good idea. Practically the whole store was on sale. So I got a few little things we would need and a new pillow for me. Afterward I got my shirt and headed back to Sam's club to buy some more food, because I had bought so little the previous night. I went home and did some more unpacking and cleaning up. It was just pretty annoying stuff washing all of the new dishes and everything else we had received from our wedding. Later I went to Jen and Edgar's and we watched a movie and had some milkshakes. It was a lot of fun.

On Sunday I didn't go to church because I was so confused at what time it was. I had three different pieces of paper that said three different times. I went to dinner at Mayra and Logan's. We had this really good chicken for dinner. And then played Quiddler and had some smoothies. I went to bed and just was anticipation of Monday for when Sam was coming. I woke in the morning and went to UVU to look around the campus and get my books and id card. Finally Sam and his mom made it with all our stuff. We unloaded everything and then had to head up to Bountiful and Clearfield for even more of our stuff and our bed. We got everything loaded up in the truck and headed to lunch at Red Robbin. That was the first time both Sam and I had been there. We really liked it. We made it back to Provo, unloaded everything once again and then said a sad goodbye to Momma Syd.

I'll update about our first week of classes and some pictures of our apartment soon.

Until next time!

Driving in style??

On Wednesday, I got to drive this beast of a truck to work. It's a pretty obnoxious truck if you ask me. And I have never driven anything that large, so I had trouble sensing where I was on the road. It's a pretty wide load I felt like. I am used to driving Sam's and my car, the little Saturn Ion.

So it is looking like I will get be in Provo in one week! I am excited. I was planning on going down on Saturday the 21, but I have to pick up the keys to the apartment and the office is closed on Saturdays, so I need to go down the day before, which is perfectly fine with me. The only sad part is that Sam won't be going with me. In fact, I am not even sure when he would be coming down. Either that Saturday or Monday. He is in the process of cutting and bailing the hay, but he has been experiencing some difficulties with that. The tractor that he needs to use, has been acting weird and will only run for about 30 minutes at a time. We ordered a part that it needs to be up and running normally, but it won't be in until Tuesday. And his dad said that in order for Sam to get is hay bonus that he needs to have it done by Saturday, which might mean is working all day Saturday, making it impossible for him to come down then. Also we have been talking about the possibility that he might not even come down until later in the week. His dad wants to extend one of the horses pens and Sam hasn't been able to do that either because he needs the tractor to dig the holes. So he might stay in Idaho until he finishes that job. And while that would mean an extra $400 to $500 dollars for us, it would also mean that I would live in our apartment without him for almost a week. That would pretty much suck, because not only does it mean I won't see him for a week, it also means that I won't have any of our stuff in the apartment. All of the big things will be up in Idaho still, like the couch, bed and tv. I am bring down everything that can fit in the car, but that won't be a lot. But there is also the possibility that he will finish the hay and not worry about the fence and come down Saturday. That is what I am hoping for.

As for other news in our life, there isn't too much going on. However, Sam's dad did manage to get hurt by a horse again this summer. This time he was trying to saddle two horses to go on a ride with Sam. He got one all ready to go, but as he was trying to put the saddle on the other one, the horse side stepped onto his foot, causing Alan to loose his balance and fall over. The horse continued to side step onto his leg and head. So Sam walked into the barn to find his dad sitting in a corner with blood dripping from his head. Sydney took him to the ER and Alan got 27 staples in his head and found out he broke his fibula, the small bone in your calf. I am assuming he broke it up pretty high, because they didn't put a cast on him, just an immobilizer so he can't bend his knee. If they were to put a cast on him, it would have gone past his knee.

Today at work, someone brought mini raspberry cheesecakes. And as I went to snag one out of the frig, I somehow managed to run my toes over with the door and cut my first two toes. I didn't think that it was that bad, until I was in my office with the cheesecake half eaten and noticed some blood dripping onto the floor from my foot. So that was interesting. And painful. And I just realized why it happened. Today is the very spooky day of Friday the 13th. Alas it all makes sense of why I would hurt myself on this day. Frick!

I only have three more days of work left. HALLELUJAH!!!! Unfortunately, they aren't my usual schedule. I am covering for someone on vacation. Usually I work from 3:30-8:30 on Tuesday and Thursday, but my last three days, Monday - Wednesday are from 8:00-4:00. I get a lot more hours, but it's dreadful being here for that long. The end is in sight!

Until next time!

This place will be the death of me

I hate work. The end. Well I really wish that it were the end of work, but I still have a couple more hours. It's rather boring here. I literally just sit here and wait until a trek comes and then I fill out a ticket and then weigh them in by pressing a couple of buttons. And then once all the trucks have come I have to do a little bit of cleaning. It's not much cleaning so I don't mind it. But I can hardly wait until this summer is over just so I will be done with work for a little while. It will be a welcomed change. However, you just wait until about November and I will be crying about school the same way I am about work.

This weekend I travelled down to Provo all by my lonesome. It was a long drive, mainly because I have never driven that far by myself. But I survived it and made it there and back safely. it was a lot of fun to just hang out with Mayra and Logan. On Saturday, we just talked and went for a walk. It was so nice down there. But deathly hot. I hardly know if I could survive a summer down there without air conditioning. Thankfully our apartment will have central air. It was interesting to see Mayra and Logan as a married couple and how they have changed. It also gave me a slight taste of what it will be like to live with Sam by ourselves. Their apartment was super cute. You can see them in the style of it, if you know them well enough. It was nice to just get to look at it all and get some ideas for my apartment. The best part though was for some girl conversation. I have been deprived all summer. But I finally got to chat away to my hearts content. I love Sam and everything but certainly does not fill the womanly void. And I can't really talk about him to him. Being with them also really made me realize just how glad I am that I married Sam and not anyone else. He is such a blessing in my life.

On Sunday, Mayra and Logan don't have church until 2pm. Which is pretty crazy. So we just lounged around and ate food until then. Their ward has babies EVERYWHERE!!! It was so crazy. I can totally understand how a couple without children can feel like the black sheep and then get baby hungry. Part of me wants my ward to have babies so I can hold them, but then part of me doesn't want any because then I will want a baby. After church we watched a movie and talked some more and went on another walk. Mayra and I also played this card game called Quiddler. it was a lot of fun. In face it was so much fun, that I made Sam take me to the store so we could buy it, but sadly they didn't have it where we went. On Monday, Mayra and I ran some errands and went shopping. Also we met our good friend, Bobbie, for lunch. It was really nice to see her and catch up. I hadn't seen her since my wedding. Around 3:45 I left to make the trek back to Idaho. I would periodically take pictures and send them to Sam to see if he knew where I was. He thought I was almost 2 hours away when really I was 40 minutes. So I surprised him by getting home early. Unfortunately we didn't have the greatest night. I am not sure why but we just bickered with each other about really stupid things. We both got a little mean. That was probably the worst fight we have had. But things are great now. I just love him.

On Saturday before I left, I received flowers for my birthday from my dad. I thought that was really sweet of him to find a flower shop out here that would deliver me flowers for my birthday. That was the first time I hadn't been with all my family for my birthday, but it was pretty enjoyable. We did end up going on the horse ride with his parents. For the first 30 minutes I was petrified. But then I saw how badly Sam's dad's horse was behaving and I realized my horse was doing amazing. It was about a 10 mile ride. So my butt hurt so badly at the end.

Today is my sister's birthday. She turned 23. I ordered her a web cam from overstock.com. It will basically benefit me just as much as her. I can hardly wait for her to get it so we can video chat. It will be nice to see her face and talk to her at the same time. Fortunately both Sam and my computer have a built in web cam. Also I found out that if my computer takes a turn for the worse, I have a 15% discount to Dell through my work. That is a pretty good deal, just for working here.

Only like three weeks until we get to move into our apartment!!! I am so excited!!!

Until next time!

Provo, here I come!!

Well not until August 21, which happens to be just one month away! However, I am making a sweet trip down to Provo to see Mayra and Logan. I am so excited! It will be so nice to get out of Idaho and be with friends. The sad part is that Sam won't be making the trip with me. But I think I will survive two days without him. I don't even know when the last time was that I went a whole day with out seeing him. Dang.

Anyways, life is pretty good. We finally found a couch today that we liked from the D.I. It was $65 and in really good condition. It is like one of those L shaped couches. It should be interesting trying to fit that in our apartment, but we already agreed that if it doesn't then we just will donate one of the sections. The whole thing breaks down into sections which is really nice. I can hardly wait until we get to move into out apartment. It will be so much fun to decorate it and everything.

This past weekend we went to the zoo. We had literally made plans to go to the soon in the very beginning of the summer, but do to weather we never made it. And we just finally got around to it. It was fun, but not the biggest zoo I've ever been to, which is just fine. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy.

On our way.

My absolute favorite part of the whole thing!!!!!

Oh I died my hair a shade of red. This is probably the best you can see it, but it looks way bright because of the sun.

This Saturday is my birthday. I will be the ripe age of 20. No longer a teeny bopper. I am not sure what we are going to do to celebrate. Sam's parents want us to go on a trail ride with them, but I am no so sure that I want to. It would be long and I get scared riding the horses. Also I would probably be way tired after it, which wouldn't be good because I am driving down to Provo that day. I just don't know. Well I guess that's about it for now.

Until next time!
