Saturday Favorites?

1) Getting to sleep in until 8:15 this morning.

2) Waking Pippen up and having him cuddle with you for at least 3 minutes before he goes crazy.

3) That bloomin' onion we had last night at Texas Roadhouse.

4) Taking TWO midterms this week and getting an 89 and 91 on them. Holler.
It's always nice to see when hard work pays off. Lets hope it happens again this week, when I have two more midterms.

5) Finishing all of my Halloween decorations with good friends last weekend. I will have to post pictures of them. that will require me cleaning the apartment first...

6) Diet Dr. Pepper and for its ability to keep me awake and sane all at the same time!

Until next time!

White Coat Ceremony

Since Sam is in the pharmacy program he has a "white coat" ceremony.
Which I think is essentially to welcome him into the profession.
Anyway this happened, oh two months ago or something like that.
I snapped a few photos that I thought I would share.

The best part is that Sam was randomly selected for a scholarship $250.
It may not be big money, but any thing helps!

Until next time!

A Very Long Week

Last week was a week straight from hell I tell ya.
It was long and just exhausting.
All last week end was spent studying my butt off for the three tests that I had last week.
I studied and studied some more for head and neck anatomy.
That test was on Tuesday and wasn't too bad.
I am sure I did okay.
Then as soon I finished that test, I had to start studying for my tests on Thursday.
Thursday rolls around and I have a quick 10 question quiz in tooth morphology.
I thought this quiz was going to be intense and really hard so I studied for hours.
However it was really easy I would have been okay studying for like 30 minutes.
Then I went to my tooth morphology lab where we were carving the crown of tooth # nine (think the big teeth in the front on the top).
This is much harder than one thinks.
We only had 1 hour and 45 minutes to carve it perfectly, grade ourselves and take a tooth identification quiz.
So I start carving that the time goes way too fast and at the end my tooth looks not so good.
So I only got a 79% on it. BOOOOO.
Then I have my oral histology test.
And that fricker was HARD. Just ridiculous.
I don't really enjoy my professor for that class and he didn't test on the stuff he emphasized in lecture like he said he was.
At this point I am exhausted and want to cry.
Then Sam and I find out that a good family friend passed away on Wednesday.
Very sad but for the best.
Last year he got in a mule accident and was paralyzed from the neck down.
Then Friday we learn that the funeral was on Saturday.
So we drove up to Rigby to be able to attend.
It was a really nice service.
The man that passed away is named Clyde.
And he was really good friends with Sam's dad, Alan.
And Clyde requested that Alan drive him to the cemetery with his horses and wagon. It was very nice.
It is so sad that he is no longer here but I know that he his no longer in pain and that he is in a better place.
On Saturday after the funeral we went to Rexburg to see Jill and Kegan.
It's always nice just to get away and not worry about school.
Especially after a terrible week.
Here's to hoping this week is better!

Until next time!

Hard

Folks, this school stuff is hard.
Not actually hard hard, but hard as in "how do I balance everything?!?"
I think that should be a prerequisite course for this program.
How to balance your time.
There is soooo much reading to be done.
Before (as in my classes before the program) if I was "assigned"
a reading, I didn't really do it.
But now I HAVE to do it.
Or I have no idea what is going on.
And I have actual quizzes on this junk.
Not only am I struggling to balance just the school work,
but also school with life.
The first week of school, was literally just school.
I didn't do anything else.
Sam cooked and cleaned.
Speaking of Sam, the poor guy keeps asking me to spend time with him, and I don't know how to do that and get everything I need done for school.
Let alone exercise, have fun and not want to cry.
Flip flip flippity flip.
I am trying to figure this out.
I think it might just be one of the toughest things about this program.
(Besides trying to hold an actual instrument. Let me tell you that is harder than it looks)
Well my "free" time is up!
I must go read another billion pages. :)

Until next time!

Bizarre

For some bizarre reason,
to me summer and blogging do not go together.
I don't really blog, as you can tell,
and I don't really keep up with any blogs.
I just do lots of other things.
I think about blogging, but that is as far as it goes.
But fortunately or unfortunately school is starting one week from tomorrow.
I feel like I will start posting a bit more regularly then.
But until then, I am going to enjoy the last of summer.
And move back to Pocatello and attend orientation.
And hem up my scrub pants.
Yippie.

Until next time!

Friday Favorites

Haven't done these in a few weeks.

1) I crossed off some big things on my to do before the end of semester list.
Like taking my anatomy test today.

2) Speaking of that anatomy test, I am SOOOO glad that it is over. I don't know my grade yet, so I am still happy. Ha.

3) Just one more week until Mayra's baby shower.
I can hardly wait for some serious girl time!

4) I haven't had my English class since before Spring Break, which was like three weeks ago.

5) Pretty much on Monday I am done with English. I turn in my rough draft and don't really have to go to class because I can miss 6 days and have only missed like 3.

6) I figured out today that I only need to average an 83 on all of my anatomy tests to get an A in the class. Holler! I can do that!

7) I got my book Heaven Is Here by Stephanie Nielson last Saturday and read it all. Seriously it is soo good! You have to read it. Have some tissues ready.

8) The weather has been super nice this week!

9) Chuck and I went to taco Tuesday at Cafe Rio and it was delicious! Such a deal. The tacos are usually $6 for one or like $8 for two. But on Tuesday they are only $1.50. Yeah!!

10) Chuck has played Skip-bo with me whenever I wanted this week.

Until next time!

Progress

I'm making serious progress on my to do list.
I love crossing off all the things I have done and getting things done way ahead of time.
I have a quiz tomorrow and test Friday.
So two more things that I will get to cross off.
If you are in school are you feeling the pressure of the end of the semester??
I know I am and I feel like rebelling and not wanting to do anything.
Like my last English paper.
I just need to do and then I will pretty much be done with the class.
I just need to write the paper and then correct it and then I am DONE with English.
I hate writing papers.
And studying.
But I sure do love crossing things off my list.
: )

Until next time!

One Month

Folks, spring break is over.
This means I have officially been crying buckets.
Not really, but I wanted to.
I hate school.
As I have mentioned before.
So join me as I finish up this last month of school before summer.
Just one month.
To the day.
Literally.
I can do this.
It may or may not be the worst month of my life with all of the tests and other work I have to do.
BUT.
I can do this.
I am sure of it.
I keep telling myself that I only need to get C's in my classes.
Which probably isn't a good idea.
But hey, C's get degrees.
Oh P.S. did I tell you that Sam got accepted to the Pharmacy program at ISU.
It all worked out how we wanted.
Unless something goes terribly wrong I have two years of school left.
EVER.
And Chuck has four years.
Yikes he is a freshmen essentially.

Until next time!

Friday Favorites

Finally!

1) Today is my last of classes for like 9 days (including weekends)! Holler

2) I don't have any homework over break.

3) In less than one month I am going to Boise for Mayra's baby shower.

4) I got to talk to my dad and sister this week.

5) For my political science class I finally found a decent group for the project we need to do.

6) The weather has been beautiful this week and the forecast looks good for the rest of the weekend. Yay.

7) I think that we are getting a new oven in our apartment because the one we have now is ghetto. Think take and bake size.

8) Did I mention I have spring break next week. : )

Until next time!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!!!!

1) I get to go to Sam's parents and sleep on a beautiful king size bed!

2) I planned lots of girl time recently. In about a month I am going to Boise for Mayra's baby shower, and today Julie is coming to stay the night!

3) After yesterday I don't have to worry about anything else school wise. I just need to show up to class (which is a challenge in itself)

4) Chuck and I went a sweet walk/hike yesterday and explored where we live

5) We got take out Chinese this week!

6) While Sam was studying for a big test I went to Winco and got all the candy my heart desired. ha

7) I found the most beautiful mustard yellow fabric. Now I just need to wash it and make something equally beautiful out of it.

8) I died my hair a darker brown yesterday!

Until next time!

Done... Kind of

I finished my test that I had today and the paper that was due today.
I may or may not have finished the paper 30 minutes before it was due,
but who is counting?
Not me.
Now I need to study for my anatomy test on Wednesday.
Fix that junky paper I wrote.
Write a paper for Friday.
Go to my interview Saturday.
And study for my Poli Sci test Monday.
Should be a blast.
I don't have any classes on Thursday so that works out nicely.
Maybe I will sew a little.
Hopefully.

Until next time!

Oh the things that I learn

In my attempt to study today, I have successfully avoided it for the majority of the day. I am quite proud of this.
What I am not quite proud of is when I was taking one of my many breaks from studying microbiology is how all of the words of the TV Guide looked like
the words I was attempting to memorize for my test tomorrow.
I don't want to mix my worlds you know.
Just kidding.
But I seriously did think that half the TV shows and movie titles
had the same name as the fungi, bacteria, yeasts and other fun things that I was just studying.
I really hope I don't dream about them tonight.
I always hate when that happens.
Now I will continue to alternate between studying micro, writing my English paper about the homeless and watching Sex and the City.

Until next time!

Studying

Studying: There is almost nothing more that I hate in the whole world.
It takes up all of my free time and pretty much always makes me want to cry.
I also hate writing papers.
And I have two do this week.
Along with two tests.
And my dental hygiene interview all day Saturday.
And a test the next Monday.
Will it ever end?
I think not.
At least not for two years.
Will someone please find me a time machine or a way to make some money without an education.
If you have any tips I would LOVE to know!
(one tip would probably to study and just get it over with instead of blogging)

Until next time!

Friday Favorites

1) Did I ever tell you guys that my genius husband was invited to the Pharmacy interview? Well he was and interviews next Friday. ALL. DAY.

2) I was also invited to the Dental Hygiene interview next Saturday.

3) Realizing that my next week from junk is next week and not this week.

4) Buying some super cute fabric for some baby shower gifts.

5) We filed our taxes this week. I can hardly wait for March 7th.

6) I did not have English class all week because we had the time off to talk with our professor about the 1600 word paper we wrote due Monday. I better start that....

7) My political science professor pushing our test and paper back by like a week and a half. I also better get started on that paper. Yikes.

Until next time!

I have never been so happy that a day was over.

Seriously.
I wanted to cry tears of joy when I got out of my last class.
Remember that week from heck?
Well everything is officially over.
Sososososo glad that I don't have to worry about another test for about a month.
I haven't been up to too much sewing, in fact none at all.
But I did get some fabric to make a new dress.
And I don't have class on Thursday, so you know where I will be.
Yay for sewing!
Have you guys been up to any sweet projects lately?

Until next time!

Drool

Sometimes when I particularly bored, I look at my blog
and see what I have posted about recently.
And every time I look at this post, I seriously drool.
I want to eat that pizza again so badly!
Today more than ever, because I have a billion things to do today.
Mainly because I didn't really get a lot done the previous days this week. And left it all to the last minute.
Yay me.
Now I must go study.
And hate life.

Until next time!

Busy

This week is going to be super busy for me.
I have two tests on Friday, and anatomy lab quiz on Thursday, I need to write a 1600 word paper by Monday and study for my anatomy test Monday morning.
It kind of doesn't seem like a lot, but it is something for all of my classes.
And the fact that we go up to Sam's parent's house every weekend, doesn't leave me a lot of room to study over the weekend for my test Monday.
You are probably thinking that we shouldn't go to his parent's this weekend, but it is the only thing that gets me through each week.
It is seriously like a mini vacation.
I love it.
And hate going home every Sunday.
Wish me luck with getting everything done that I need to this week.

Until next time!

Skewl

Did I ever mention just how much I don't enjoy school?
Maybe it's not that I don't like it, but just the fact that I am pretty burnt out
on the whole school thing. I mean this is supposed to be
my last semester, but I still have FOUR more left.
Anyway. Enough of that rant.
Today was the first day of classes. They weren't that awful.
I was just exhausted. Normally I go to bed at 11 at the latest.
But since I was on break for the last three weeks,
my sleeping pattern got all out of whack.
Today I had an 8am class. Which isn't that awful. But I didn't fall asleep until about 12:30 and woke up at 6:45. So that made for a pretty tired Jenn.
I was only supposed to have three classes today and be done at noon.
But when I came home at noon, I checked my English class out
and realized the school changed the professor for the time that I
signed up for.
I looked up the new professor on rate my professors and she had horrible reviews. So then I had to quickly find a new professor.
Turns out the time the new professor had available was 1pm.
I gobbled down some lunch and went back to class. YAY.
Good news is, that on Tuesday and Thursday I only have one class. And while it is a three hour lab, it won't be that bad.
Especially considering the fact that my lab on Thursday only meets every other week. Hallelujah!

Until next time!

Looky What I found!

A bunch of random pictures from my phone that I found when I uploaded the pictures from yesterday.
Enjoy!

A massive folding chair that we found at Sam's Club in Provo. Taken Fall 2010

This is the family "cabin" farm in Driggs, Idaho. Taken December 2010

Utah State Fair. Taken Fall 2010

A random picture of us at our old apartment in Provo, Utah
Taken sometime in 2010 : )

Right after I chopped my hair real short. The dumbest thing I ever did, by the way. Taken March 2011, Provo, Utah.

These were on the Snake River by the Idaho Falls Temple. We took these right before I went to NY. Taken July 2011, Idaho Falls, Idaho.

My hair is slightly longer. Just a random picture from school.

Done!

So I finished all of my finals on Wednesday!! And it was the
BEST feeling ever. I have gotten back
my grades from all of my classes. Well technically that's a lie.
I have gotten the grade I got on the final back and
then calculated my final grade. I got an A in all of my classes, except STATISTICS. :( I got a B+. Which is not bad by any means, but
I of course wanted an A. Oh well.
On Thursday Sam finished his finals, we packed up everything that we could need for break, and then headed up to his
parents house. They left to go visit their daughter Christina in Vegas for the weekend, so we have just been hanging out and
watching the animals. Fun stuff. Tomorrow we are going skiing. I am excited to
be able to ski for as many days as I want over break. YAY.
Now I need to get cracking on Sam's Christmas gift. I am making him a quilt. It's my first one so wish me luck!
Are you guys making any handmade gifts?
Until next time!
